Hello, I'm Gary, I live in Cornwall, United Kingdom, with my partner, and my rescue dog. We have four grown up children between us, personally, I have two daughters, they are all out there, doing their thing, and we can't complain despite our deep seated need to feed them, and gather their gossip a little more often. Life has been tricky, and in my early fifties I was formally diagnosed as both Neurodivergent, and in possession of a Severe Mental Illness (or Serious Mental Illness), or two. The specific names for these conditions are less relevant in the context of this page, than the actual symptoms, functional impairments, and behaviours. No doubt I will, or will have written about all this somewhere. I'm a huge all round music fan, although my preferences steer more towards various forms of instrumental music from jazz, classical, progressive/space rock though to a lot of not necessarily modern, electronic music. I try to look after myself and be fit and healthy but it's not all that easy, as I frequently struggle to get out and about. When that happens I occupy myself by pottering about around the house, it keeps me distracted and out of any sort of bother!
Porthia, is another name for St. Ives, where we live. It is an anglicised word, derived from St. Ia, an Irish saint that rocked up here some time ago, and Porth, which in the Cornish Language or Kernowek means port, bay or harbour, and other similar words for the same kind of thing. You see, every day is a school day. You are most welcome.
